For other recovery agencies
Your coverage. Our eight Bay Area counties.
If your agency needs coverage in Northern California, introduce your service area and the work you want to place. Discuss a reciprocal arrangement before sending a file.
What to agree before the first reciprocal file.
Establish coverage, credentials, client requirements and rates before placing work. Keep sensitive assignment details out of this inquiry form.
- Agency credentials
- Exchange current licence information and confirm the credentials required for the location and work involved. Shield’s California agency licence is listed on the compliance page.
- The service area is the service area
- Check the coverage map, then confirm the specific address with operations before sending the assignment. Discuss any destination outside the service area separately.
- Client relationships
- Agree on client-contact permissions, reporting channels and any restrictions required by the assigning institution before exchanging a file.
- Records and confidentiality
- Confirm the condition, key and release records needed for the file. Personal property inventories are confidential under California law and are not automatically shared with partner agencies or lenders.
- Rates and scope
- Confirm the scope and rates for recovery, storage, transport and key service, including any approvals needed for additional work.
Where Shield needs coverage
Coverage starts with a specific location.
Send the states or counties your agency covers and the kinds of work you handle. Compare them with Shield’s eight-county service area, then discuss the locations and requirements relevant to a proposed relationship.

Tell us where you cover and what you need in Northern California. Include a way to reach you, without borrower, account or vehicle-location information.
Or just call and talk to somebody who does this.
Review the service area, then contact operations to discuss requirements, rates and assignment channels.
