Cookies and tracking
Nothing follows you from this website.
Effective October 8, 2026. Shield Recovery does not set cookies and does not use advertising trackers. It counts visits with one privacy-focused tool, described below.
What we do today
- No cookies. Our pages do not set cookies, and neither does the service that receives the forms.
- No advertising trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no advertising or retargeting tags of any kind.
- No session recording, no fingerprinting, no profiles.
- One measurement script, and no other third-party code. Cloudflare Web Analytics (below) counts visits in aggregate. No other company's scripts or embeds run on our pages, and our fonts are served from this website.
What is stored on your device
- Booth game best score. The Spot the Unit game saves your best score in your browser's local storage, under the name
shield.best, so it can show you next time. It stays on your device, is not sent to us unless you submit the follow-up form, and disappears when you clear your browser's site data. - Visit counts: Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, adds a small script (loaded from
static.cloudflareinsights.com) that reports page-load timing and page-view details, such as the page, the referring site, and the visitor's country, browser and device type. Cloudflare states that it "does not track individual end users across our customers' Internet properties," and its tool does not use cookies or local storage. We use the counts to see which pages are read and whether pages load quickly, not to identify anyone. You can block that address in your browser and the website works the same. - Email protection. Our host, Cloudflare, runs a small script from this same website that stops spam robots from collecting our email address. It runs in your browser, sets no cookies and does not track you.
- Security. If Cloudflare suspects a visit is automated, it can show a check and, if so, store a short-lived cookie that is strictly necessary to protect the site. We have not turned on that feature, and it does not identify you.
The Share button
The contact card has a "Share this page" button on phones that support it. Nothing is sent anywhere until you tap it, and then it only opens your own device's share menu.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers can send "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signals. This website does not track you across websites, and does not sell or share your information. Our practices already do what those signals ask.
If this changes
If we ever add advertising, retargeting, session recording or other tracking beyond the aggregate counts above, we will first update this page and the privacy policy. Where the law requires your consent, nothing non-essential will run until you choose to allow it, declining will be as easy as accepting, and the site will work the same either way.
Controlling storage yourself
Every browser lets you clear stored site data and block cookies. Doing so will not affect your use of this website, except that the game will forget your best score.
